Jon Honeyball with PC PRO UK believes that analogue telecom is a thing of the past, and that to get more value from a computing infrastructure it is wise to switch to VoIP. Ricky Magalhaes in his review for WindowsNetworking, awarded 3CX Phone System Free edition the Gold award with 4.6 points out of a possible 5. "I found the PBX to be stable and easy to use and in a few minutes I was able to set up a replica to our more costly hardware (proprietary alternative) that we use in our office. I could not believe this system was free." The reviewer goes on to state, "If you are looking at moving to VOIP consider this product as a great introduction to the VOIP/SIP space." Beniamino Profeta, author of "Libera il VoIP" blog reviewed 3CX Phone System and remarks that, releasing a new PBX based on Windows, in a world previously dominated by Linux-based solutions, is no easy task. However, in his opinion, 3CX rose to the challenge and the result is an easy-to-use, well-developed, complete application, which is a breath of fresh air compared with the Asterisk applications the industry is familiar with.
